Current weekly events
June 23
• Summer Food Program started. Breakfast was served at 9am and Lunch was served at 1pm. 84 students were in attendance. Students eligible to participate in food program are all 18 and under.
• Phillips County Youth workers last week of work at the Community Center.
• Franklin Park and North Helena Park were cut and groomed.
June 24
• 10th Street Park was sprayed, cut, and groomed.
• Summer Day Camp activities as scheduled.
• Increase attendance for summer food program.
• Swim Camp registration forms were given out in Community Center. Pre-registration is required
June 25
• Washington Street Park sprayed, cut and groomed.
• Parks and Recreation vehicles and mowers serviced and cleaned.
• Youth Mission team from Jackson, Mississippi at Center with staff.
• Community Center Jr. High All-Star Team traveled to Friars Point, Mississippi.
• Girl's softball teams have games in North Helena Park.
June 26
• Washington Street sprayed, cut, and cleaned.
• Mowers returned to Golf Course
• King Biscuit Tournament at Golf Course
June 27
• Last day for County Workers to work at Community Center
• Sysco Food Service delivered Community Center's Summer Food Program Inventory.
• Community Center floors prepared for buffing and waxing.
June 28
• Community Center floors were buffed and stripped by employees
June 29
• Community Center's Junior High Boys and Girls traveled to Holly Grove for basketball games.
• Community Center Senior High Boys traveled to Holly Grove for basketball games.
• Community Center floors were waxed.
Upcoming Weekly Events
June 30-July6
• Diabetic Clinic at Helena Community Center from 9am-1pm on June 30
• Summer Food Program will continue to serve breakfast and lunch to students 18 & under.
• Summer Day Camp will continue to operate with activities as scheduled.
• Williams Family Reunion begins on July 3 and ends July 6.
• Last State Entertainment at Malco Theater on July 4.
• All-white Affair in Community Center on July 5.
• Community Center will continue to prepare for ACC Camps and Swim Camps
• Swim Camp registration will continue.
