Hi Mayor,

As if it were a male bird of paradise attracting a lover through its
show of extravagant colors and showy dance, October in Arkansas lures
residents and visitors with its rich fall hues and lively
celebrations. Creativity can be seen everywhere this month, from corn
mazes and pumpkin patches to music festivals and arts and crafts.
Adorned in a perfect palette, the outdoor beckons with motorcycle
rides, marathons and trail run.

October in Arkansas highlights the harvest offerings with pumpkin
patches and corn mazes for young and old alike to enjoy. Several art
related events take place, including an artisan market, an arts and
crafts festival and a place to escape to learn how to create
paintings. Traditional and unique festivals can be found as well, like
the 26th annual Bean Fest and Great Arkansas Champion Outhouse Races
for example.

The days of the pioneers and frontier are celebrated in festival form
in Paris, Harrisburg and De Queen in October. One of these towns used
to be called Hoo Rah City. Do you know which one? You can also help
Benton celebrate its past the old-fashioned way this fall.
