STREET DEPARTMENT REPORT – 3/30/09

Mechanic:

3/23

Worked on door Street unit 13

Replaced switch on Auto car

Replaced switch in blue and white dump truck

Repaired lights on Sanitation unit 21 and serviced with diesel and oil

3/24

Hauled and spread two loads of dirt on Adkins St.

Took transmission out of Police unit 11

3/25

Took Sanitation unit 29 to Machine Shop for repairs

Repaired light and worked on arm of Sanitation unit 26

Assisted with back hoe of dirt removal on Oak Forrest

Replaced battery, alternator and pulley on Sanitation unit 21

3/26

Charged battery on Sanitation unit 29 at Machine Shop

Charged battery on Sanitation unit 27

Tightened bolt on Sanitation unit 28

Replaced arm mount on Sanitation unit 25

Received two transmissions from LKQ for Police units

Removed speed breaker on South Coanza with back hoe

Worked on transmission on Police unit 11

 

Potholes:

Out of cold mix

 

Animal control:

  • Removed numerous dead animals from streets
  • Picked up three dead animals from vet

 

Other activities:

Continuous removal of debris throughout city designated trash routes

Attended ALFD meeting in Forrest City

Drained excess water from swimming pool and photographed for technician

Worked on chemical sprayer

Womack picked up various piles of debris from highway

Assisted Sanitation in dumping and picking up trash carts

Trimmed trees behind Sebastian Shop

Electrician repaired weather head behind shop

Womack took drains from pool to Memphis for fabrication

Assisted Sanitation in dumping and picking up trash carts

Removed trees from ditch behind Councilman Hudson's home

Replaced two traffic lights-Plaza and Sebastian & Valley Dr. and Oakland

Mowed Helena Bridge approach, Helena Fish Market, Market Place, River Park (flat) and Caney Creek shoulders

Call out for power outage-placed 4-Way stop signs at Anderson & Sebastian, Sebastian & Plaza, Plaza & 4th, and Sebastian at Exxon

Refaced stop signs: 5th & Garland, 6th & Garland, 3rd & Baldwin, Ladino & Baringo, Madison St

Surveyed collapsed drainage wall behind Administration Ave-contacted LC Adams

Cleared mud from roadway at Oak Forrest entrance
