Reminders (Per Billy Ray -- Chamber of Commerce Executive Director)

A few reminders and save the date information:
Tomorrow (Thursday, September 3rd), there is a Business After Hours hosted by Southern Bancorp at their downtown branch (502 Cherry Street) from 4:30 til 6:00.  The occassion is to welcome the Teach for America Corp members to Phillips County and the Delta region.
This Saturday, the third annual Jazz on the Levee will be held in downtown Helena on the Cherry Street Pavilion.
The Tri-County Fair is next week (September 7th - 12th).  Hard to believe its that time of year already.  The fair begins Monday (Labor Day) and will run thru Saturday, Spetember 12th. 
Southern Bancorp will be hosting the annual Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival Poster Unveiling Party next Thursday (September 10th) beginning at 4:30.  Southern Bancorp has continued to be the sponsor of the poster contest every year and we certainly thank them for that and for hosting the unveiling celebration.

As you can see, Fall is a busy time of year for Phillips County.  And also, a special thanks to the many, many farmers and those working in agriculture-related businesses in the county.  The harvest season is upon us and I know these folks are putting in some long days.  Agriculture related business is our county's largest industry which is significantly important to our local economy.
