Get at Head Start on Christmas in Conway

November 14 and 15 are the dates for the 6th Annual Faulkner County Museum Open House in Conway. The museum and an 1850s era Dog Trot Cabin will be decorated for Christmas in an early 20th century theme. There will be live music, hot coffee, apple cider and gingersnaps are served on the cabin porch. Handmade and garden-themed crafts and baked goods will be on sale at the museum gift shop and the scale model railroad will be open.

Welcoming the Holiday Season

Ring in the holiday season in West Memphis as the town hosts the annual Holiday Lighting Festival on November 24 at Worthington Park. Watch as Santa flips the switch to light up the trees, the water tower, and the bridge located inside the park, all adorned with thousands of beautiful lights. The focal point is always the 45-foot tree in the center of the park. The evening also features a fireworks display.

Vintage Aircraft

View vintage aircraft and aeronautical memorabilia housed in a historic hangar that is home to the Arkansas Air Museum. From world-famous racing planes of the 1920s and 1930s to an early airliner, the planes are maintained in flying condition. And, you can take a piece of Arkansas aviation history along with you at the Arkansas Air Museum's gift shop, located on U.S. 71 at Drake Field in Fayetteville.

Winter Fun

From an ice skating rink to visits with Santa, the White River Winter event is sure to be fun for kids. It will take place from November 25-December 31 in Bull Shoals. There will also be a Wassail bowl, hay rides, tree trimming competition, Nativity scene, choir concert, shopping opportunities and other special holiday offerings.

ArtBlast is set for November 28 at the Hot Springs Convention Center in Hot Springs. The event is an interactive, hands-on arts festival for kids age 4-18. ArtBlast, with 18,000-square-feet of art activities, is a collaboration of non-profit art organizations. The programs include painting, drawing, drum making, documentary film-making, poster contests, music activities, a treasure hunt, and more. Tickets are $5 for kids and there is free admission for adults attending with children.
