SPEC IFIC WEEKLY ACTIVITIES:

Monday 10-26-09

Begin the regular Lakeview trash route at 4:00am

Washed and serviced units 26,27,28,29 and 30

Replaced the battery on the John Deere dozer

Assisted Ben Newell with water drainage problem at the community garden on Panama Rd. using the mini track

No carts were picked up or delivered

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Central High, Watson's Flowers, Mid Delta Senior's Center, Family Dollar, Conoco and JF Wahl

Repositioned the 8yard dumpster from the alley between Cherry and Ohio and placed it at the new School Administration Building

Picked up commercial dumpsters from 576 Sioux 8yard, 203 Jane St., 6yard, 227 Cherry 6 yard and 206 Sunset 6yard

Delivered 8yard commercial dumpster to 519 Beech

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 39.73 tons


 

Tuesday 10-27-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Picked up unit 25 from Smith's Custom Welding and put it back in service on the regular route

Picked up unit 26 from Mayville and Sons, they were unable to repair the signal lights, we are making preparation to take it to Scruggs in Memphis Tn.

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Beauty Mania, Cato and Corner Market

Delivered carts to 923 Walker and 420 Poplar

Picked up two carts, 333 N. 4th and 212 Westwood

Picked up commercial dumpster from 519 Beech, 8 yard

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 36.98 tons


 


 

Wednesday 10-28 -09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Replaced the battery on the track hoe

Washed and serviced units 26, 27, 28 and 29

Changed oil in unit 27

Replaced hydraulic fitting on unit 29

Orde red wiper blades for unit 28 and 30

Delivered 8 yard commercial dumpster to 906 Ohio St.

Picked up commercial 6 yard from 906 Ohio and delivered it to 2426 Hwy 49, East Arkansas Health Services

Street Foreman picked up the hydraulic pump for the blue dump at Truck Pro in Memphis

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Kwik Stop, Beech Crest, Central High, Food Pantry, Kipp, Kidney Care, Sudden Link, Conoco and JF Wahl

Delivered carts to 1321 Pecan and 901 Ohio

Picked up carts from 129 Spruce and 444 S. Sam

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 30.75 tons


 

Thursday 10-29-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Replaced two hydraulic hoses on unit 25

No boxes were picked up today

Attended the East Arkansas Regional Solid Waste District Board Meeting in Wynne Arkansas

After leaving the East Arkansas Regional Solid Waste District Board Meeting, Chief of Staff picked up the hydraulic pump for unit 30 at Century Hydraulic in West Memphis

Delivered a cart to 1001 ½ Pecan

Picked up carts from 115 Tennessee, 1022 Holly, 1314 Holly and 1316 Holly

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 42 tons


 

Friday 10-30-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Removed the 2 yard commercial dumpster and replaced with a 6 yard at the Kwik Stop on Sebastian

Installed the new hydraulic pump on the blue dump truck

Replaced hydraulic line on the blue dump truck

Picked up boxes from Food Pantry, Kidney Care, Corner Market, Central High, Family Dollar and Helena Crossing Conoco

Continued to process boxes collected for the week

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 33.51

Total tonnage for the week taken to Landfill 183.97


 


 

FOLLOW UP ACTIVITIES:

Completing the dirt excavation on Arkansas St.

Developing a plan for the next electronic waste collection with ADEQ

Writing estimates for Code Enforcement

Assisting Parks and Recreation Department with dirt for the low spots in the Washington St. Park

Working with the Street Department on the Valley Dr. drainage project

After talking to Century Hydraulics we were informed that a new hydraulic pump had been ordered for Sanitation unit 30, and was expected to be in this week


 


 

FUTURE ACTIVITIES:

Planning the next electronic waste collection event with ADEQ, as of now it is set for early December

Demolishing the structures condemned by the Planning Commission

Selling the processed paper to the highest bidder

Working on the bid process for a new refuse truck


 

STAFF CONCERNS:

Two employees were lost due to violation of the Drug Free Work Place Ordinance
