Weekly Activities:

Monday 11-9-09

Begin the regular Lakeview trash route at 4:00am

Serviced units 25, 27 and 29

Took unit 30 to Mayville and Sons to repair structural corner post of the refuse body

Delivered carts to #4 Baringo Court and 121 S. 8th

Continued dirt excavation on Arkansas St.

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Family Dollar, Pit Stop, Kidney Care, Central High, Watson's Flowers, JF Wahl, Beech Crest, Conoco, Corner Market

Total tonnage 15.22 tons


 


 

Tuesday 11-10-09

Begin the regular trash route at 2:00am

Continued dirt excavation on Arkansas St.

Sanitation employees attended safety meeting

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Kidney Care, Central High, Beech Crest and West Helena Furniture Gallery

Total tonnage 34.91 Tons


 

Wednesday 11-11-09

Closed for Veterans Day, Commercial unit 28 ran for a brief while until the knuckle of the lift arm cylinder broke. The unit has been taken to Twin City Machine Shop for repair.

Picked up unit 24 from Scruggs in Memphis and put it back in service

Total tonnage 13.11 tons


 


 

Thursday 11-12-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Repaired air line on unit 24

Replaced brake chamber on unit 25

Replaced head light on unit 27

Replaced park light on unit 27

Tightened hydraulic filter on unit

Replaced radiator hose on the Auto Car diesel tractor

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Kidney Care, Central High, JF Wahl, Beech Crest, West Helena Furniture, Corner Market, Staton's Rentals, Reverend Fox, Food Pantry, Delta Gypsy and Conoco

Total tonnage19.899


 

Friday 11-13-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Replaced head light and wiper blades on unit 24

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Kidney Care, Family Dollar, Central High, Watson Flowers, Conoco, Corner Market, Beech Crest and JF Wahl

Picked up a cart from 101 Porter Dr.

Delivered carts to 1215 Perry, 310 Waverly Woods (replacement cart), 302 Quarles Lane (replacement cart), 507 W. Garland and 414 Cherry

Total tonnage for the week, due to break downs tonnage amount was not complete at posting time

FOLLOW UP ACTIVITIES:

Working to complete the excavation on Arkansas St.

Planning the electronic waste collection with ADEQ

Writing estimates for Code Enforcement


 

FUTURE ACTIVITIES:

Continuing the demolition of the dilapidated structures

Trying to purchase a new refuse truck to replace unit #25

Selling the processed paper to the highest bidder


 

STAFF CONCERNS:

Two employees has been moved up from the part-time crew to full time status
