WEEKLY REPORT

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES:

Monday 11-02-09

Begin the regular Lakeview trash route at 4:00am

Due to rainy weather Martin Luther King Dr. in Lakeview was in very bad condition and unit 27 got stuck in the mud. Unit 30 was successful in pulling it out but slipped of the road into the edge of the ditch. Moons Wrecker Service retrieved the unit from the ditch, with the assistance of the County Road Department.

Washed and serviced units 25, 27, and 29

Put the hydraulic pump on the blue dump truck

Put hydraulic pump on unit 28

Used the back hoe to pull out one of the Parks and Recreation trucks

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Central High, Kidney Care, Corner Market, Watson Flowers, Conoco, Beech Crest, Perry Street Market and Kwik Stop

Delivered carts to 700 Seneca, 205 Franklin, 201 Franklin, 1107 Ohio and 1030 Holly

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 18.96 tons


 

Tuesday 11-03-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Worked on the hydraulic pump on unit 28

Repaired the hopper light on unit 29 and tightened cylinder on arm

Took unit 30 to Twin City Machine Shop to repair the broken lift tube on the front forks

Repaired the broken finger of the arm on unit 25 with our welding machine

Replaced hydraulic hose on unit 25

King Disposal of Forrest City loaned one of their commercial trucks to assist us in trash collection

Delivered cart to 25 Edgewood Circle

Picked up carts from 400 Jefferson, 10Terrace Dr., 232 Joe Brady Dr. and 138 Sacred Heart

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Central High, Kwik Stop, Conoco, Watson Flowers, Corner Market, Kidney Care, West Side and Counseling Consultants Inc

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 22.56 tons


 

Wednesday 11-04-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Took Sanitation unit 28 to Scruggs in Memphis to repair the hydraulic pump switch, after the driver returned the resumed the route

Took Sanitation unit 26 to Scruggs in Memphis to repair the packer and signal light switch

Fixed a flat on the blue dump truck

We continued the dirt excavation on Arkansas St.

Picked up carts from 427 Walnut, 210 Joe Brady Dr., 321 Walnut and 734 Biscoe

Delivered carts to 921 Walker, 326 Plaza and 337 N. Coanza

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Beech Crest, Central High, Kidney Care, Sears, Stage, Factory Connection, West Side and East Side Fire Station

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 38.26


 

Thursday 1-05-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Took Sanitation unit 24 to Goodyear to repair a flat before going to Scruggs in Memphis for repair

Serviced the red and the blue dump trucks

We continued the dirt excavation on Arkansas St.

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Food Pantry, Pit Stop, Watson Flowers, Conoco, Corner Market, EZ pawn and Kidney Care

Delivered a cart to 901 Alabama

Picked up two carts at 217 Miller

Total tonnage taken to Landfill 47.23


 

Friday 11-06-09

Begin the regular trash route at 4:00am

Picked up boxes from Sonic, Wendy's, Food Pantry, West Helena Furniture, Conoco, Kidney Care, Delta Gypsy, Factory Connection, Beech Crest and Bistro

Delivered two carts 1127 Perry and 623 Beech

Lubricated lift arm on unit 28

Total tonnage taken to Landfill37.97 tons

Total tonnage for the week 164.98 tons


 


 

FOLLOW UP ACTIVITIES:

Working to complete the dirt excavation on Arkansas St.

Planning the next electronic waste collection with ADEQ

Working with Code Enforcement on estimates and demolition

Assisting Parks and Recreation in the Washington St. Park

Doughit's Communication has a non repeater radio system to be used by Parks and Recreation to see if it will fit their needs

Assisting Street Department as needed on the Valley Dr. drainage project


 

FUTURE ACTIVITIES:

Demolishing the structures condemned by the Planning Commission

Working with ADEQ planning the next electronic waste collection

Working with Administration for the purchase of a new refuse truck

Selling the processed paper to the highest bidder

The completion of the excavation on Arkansas St.


 

STAFF CONCERNS:

The part-time employees have been reduced to lay-off status
