CRIMES AGAINST PROPERTY

Investigators are currently investigating 2- Residential Burglaries one in the area of Cook Street and the other in the area of N. 10th Street where two arrests were made after neighbors identified something suspicious and notified police with descriptions of the subjects involved and the vehicle driven, we had 1- Attempted Residential Burglary in the area of Edgewood Circle where one arrest was made, we had 1- Theft of Property that accompanied these felony crimes committed, and 1- Theft by Receiving.

CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS

Investigators are currently investigating 1 alleged Domestic Battery 3rd & 1 Terroristic Act after a Helena- West Helena man physically assaulted his girlfriend and later fired several rounds inside the home in the area of the Beech Street apartments. There are active warrants pending in this case.

Investigators are currently investigating 1 alleged Attempted Murder 2 counts, Kidnapping 2 counts, and Stalking, after a Massachusetts man entered into a local business armed with several weapons and held his estranged wife and her current boyfriend against their will. There were two people injured in this incident and both were transported to the HRMC and were treated and released. The subject in this matter was arrested and currently being held in the Phillips County Jail.

NARCOTICS CRIMES

Investigators are currently investigating several reported areas of drugs sales and have several covert operations fully functional at this time.

MISCELLENEOUS

Investigators arrested 4 Juveniles this week 3 on the charges of 2 counts of Battery 3rd Degree and Engaging in Violent Criminal Group Activity and 1 on the charge of Theft of Property.

Also arrested was George Rochester on the charges of Attempted Murder 2 counts, Kidnapping 2 counts, and Stalking, Rochester is currently being held on $1,250,000.00 bond.

Milton Ross Jr. is also being held on $25,000.00 bond after being arrested on Attempted Residential Burglary earlier this week.

Investigators also responded to the unattended death of Mr. Jeffery Willis after Willis was found collapsed inside a home located on Valley Drive the cause of death at this point is still undetermined but investigators don’t suspect in foul play was involved.
