SPECIFIC WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

MONDAY:
  • ATTENDED DHM -- CHANTA MANSFIELD WAS IN CHARGE -- DISCUSSED EVALUATIONS AND ACTION PLANS IN DETAIL AND DHRs IN DETAIL TOO.
  • Power Outage from about Noon until 2:00 p.m. (Courthouse closed for the day)
  • Meeting with Munnie Jordan regarding ABHF. She is the Executive Director of the ABHF for the 2nd year. Meeting set with city council for tomorrow and DH's for Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m.
  • Met with Ronnie Smith regarding invoices
  • Met with Tony Davis regarding invoices
  • Met with Alco Edwards regarding invoices
  • Discussed various vendors and their ability to do business with city government

TUESDAY: 
  • AUDITORS WORKING ON PLAZA
  • REVIEW OF ORDINANCE 9-2009 (DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES)
    • MADE ASSESSMENT OF PROGRESS ON SEVERAL STRUCTURES WHICH HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO VARIOUS VENDORS

  • CANCELLED SCHEDULED MEETING BETWEEN CSC & POLICE - FIRE DEPARTMENTS
  • DISCUSSED MEETING WITH WILL TATE, CHAIR OF CSC. WILL SET A HEARING DATE SUFFICIENTLY IN ADVANCE FOR CSC MEMBERS, MR. MANNING, HIS LAWYER, CITY ATTORNEY, MAYOR AND FIRE CHIEF'S LAWYER AND WITNESSES.
  • SIGNED PAYROLL CHECKS AND CHECKS FOR VENDORS
  • INFORMED CITY COUNCIL THAT SANITATION DEPARTMENT WAS RAZING THE APARTMENTS AT JOE BRADY DRIVE. THIS PROPERLY HAS NOT BEEN CONDEMNED. INSTEAD THE PROPERLY OWNERS DESIRED THAT THE BURNED STRUCTURE BE DEMOLISHED. CUSTOMARY FEES ARE BEING CHARGED.
  • DISCUSSED BRIEFLY CSC ADD IN NEWSPAPER REGARDING TESTING OF POLICE AND FIRE CANDIDATES.

  • VISITED WITH POLICE CHIEF, OFFICE MANAGER AND DISPATCHER REGARDING TWO POSITIONS: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCATE/INVESTIGATOR AND DISPATCH CASHIER/CLERK
  • VISITED WITH MAJOR REGARDING GRANT AND COMPATIBILITY OF POSITIONS

THURSDAY:`

  • DISTRIBUTED PAYROLL CHECKS TO HUMAN RESOURCES
  • PERMITTED EARLY RELEASE OF CERTAIN PAYROLL CHECKS
  • DETERMINED THAT THE OVERTIME OF FIREFIGHTER WAS APPROPRIATE.
  • DIRECTED THAT THE CLERK TAKE ACTION TO ADD JAY V. HOLLOWELL AS A SIGNATORY ON OUR CHECKING ACCOUNTS (STILL PENDING)
  • WORKED ON FIREFIGHTER AGE REQUIREMENT -- HAVE SOME OVER 18 BUT UNDER 21 WHO PASSED THE TEST. MUST DECIDE HOW TO PROCEED WITH THEM.
  • APPROVED PAYMENTS TO VARIOUS VENDORS
  • DIRECTED THE REPAIR OF 1ST STREET NEAR THE MUNICIPAL BLDG AT 98 PLAZA STREET AND THE FLOOR IN THE OFFICE AT 98 PLAZA WHERE THE SEWER LINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. A NEW CONCRETE SLAB WILL BE POURED.
  • MET WITH MUNNIE JORDAN AND LINDA BROOME FOR BLUESFEST BISCUIT PRESENTATION
