Christmas Holiday observed

Received engine for Police unit # 1

C Davis and C Smith installed radiator in Sanitation unit # 27

T Wilson worked on Sanitation unit # 26 – packer sticking

C Smith and C Davis hauled dirt from the Arkansas St site

T Wilson replaced quick release valve on Sanitation unit # 27

T Wilson charged batteries on Police utility van

C Davis – called in sick after lunch – ½ day

C Smith checked local parts stores and shops for timing diagram for 2006 Dodge Charger 3.5L

½ day work - Holiday

T Wilson repaired Street unit # 107 – replaced bolt in boom hose case

C Smith and C Davis began removing engine from Police unit # 1

C Smith took bob truck to DB Griffin for boxes

Potholes:

12/28 Checked on large hole on 10th St – Will repair 12/29 – received call at end of shift

10th @ Garland - repaired washout on side of road – Area was repaired earlier and continues to deteriorate. Suspected underground leak and needs to be addressed by Water Dept

Animal Control:

Several dead animals removed from roadways – Lambert Dr/ Columbia St / Plaza St

Other Activities:

Hard trash and debris routes advanced to accommodate the New Year's Holiday

Continuous removal of hard trash and debris along designated routes

Crews busy removing seasonal leaf bags and boxes from roadsides

Litter pickup at primary travel routes of the city: Perry / Porter / Cherry / Walnut / Elm / Franklin / Oakland / Plaza / Sebastian / and Quarles

E Womack assisted with transport and removal of debris from K&L demolition site on Sulphur Springs Rd – Hauled (9) loads of large concrete debris

E Womack and crew assisted with removing boxes from 18 wheeler transport truck – had to removed by hand

Mills Electric changed (1) red light - 7th @ 49 Bypass

Crews cleaned drains

E Womack repaired unit # 106 – Hose fitting replaced in bucket manifold

Staff Issues/Concerns

1.        Much larger television and floor mats for exercise classes; Great participation!

2.        Seeking ways to implement a more stringent protocol for offenses committed by patrons of the HWHCC

3.        Two-way Radios

4.     Significant drop in children attending center, typical during this time of year. There is an increase in adult participation in Parkers' exercise program and other forms of adult recreation. 

5.    Kitchen stove needs to be replaced.
