At approximately 2:50 p.m. this afternoon, barges strike the Helena
River Bridge near the Isle of Capri Casino between Lula, Mississippi
and Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. No major damage was reported.
The bridge was closed to through traffic until it could be checked out.
Inspectors were called to the scene and after performing a survey of
the damage done (or lack thereof) declared the bridge safe for travel
and permitted it to be re-opened to traffic at 3:18 p.m.
